The 29th Annual Share and Care Gala took place the weekend of October 22 to 23, 2011 in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Proceeds from these two events went toward youth development and women’s empowerment in rural India. More than 1,600 patrons showed their support at this year’s gala. The evening kicked off with the singing of both the American and Indian national anthems by Shweta Shukla. The highlight was a musical performance by Vinod Rathod accompanied by Prachi Shah, Rex D’Souza, Anil Sindhi, Nafes Anand and Shobhana Shankar. Anand Raj, singer and comedian, was the host of the night’s event. A number of individuals contributed to the fundraiser, which included their “Make a Bid, Educate a Kid” auction that raised more than $20,000 for the foundation, making it a successful night for the Share and Care foundation.
